Why we’re building Finhale
Finhale is built in Bengaluru, India — personal finance software for people who keep their own books.
We kept our own spreadsheet longer than we’d like to admit — one tab for spending, one for the portfolio, a third for the loan, updated in bursts whenever the gap got embarrassing. Finhale started as the fix we wanted for ourselves.
No single app fills the gap on its own. Budgeting apps categorise what you spent and stop there. Portfolio trackers value what you hold and stop there. Nobody holds spending, income, assets, and debt in one place — which is exactly why the spreadsheet existed in the first place.
The insights that actually change a decision — should I prepay this loan or invest the cash? — need spending, income, assets, and liabilities in one consented dataset at once. Single-domain apps structurally can’t produce them. That’s the entire point of holding it all together automatically.
We build personal finance software in Bengaluru, and Finhale is the product: a tool for keeping track of money you already have and money you have already spent. We are not a bank, a broker or an investment adviser, and the app never holds, moves or manages anyone’s money.
How we work
- Your numbers stay yours
- Finhale is paid for by the people who use Finhale. We do not sell your data, and we do not take a commission for pointing you at somebody's product. That is a business-model commitment, not a privacy setting.
- We describe it as it is
- Every capability on this site is one the app actually has on the day you read it. Nothing is listed because it is nearly finished, and we would rather answer a hard question early than lose you to a surprise later.
- Close to the people who use it
- We talk to the people using Finhale directly, and we intend to keep doing it as we grow. A complaint we hear this week changes the app next week, and that responsiveness is worth more to us than a number we could put on a homepage.
